These list is not comprehensive. The sources listed here have been selected with care and in keeping with the "Wear Our Heritage" goals and philosophy. Preference has been given to locally owned and operated stores that offer goods made in Canada, often by hand by local or Canadian artisans. The current emphasis is on western Canada.

Artisans

Silver Cedar Studio Thunder Bay, Ontario. Katie Ball grew up trapping with her father and then began a career in fashion. She has fused both to create fur accessories and clothing. She will accept custom orders. Email her at admin@silvercedarstudio.com.
Trapline Creations Carrot River, Saskatchewan. Marcy Friesen makes fur mitts, gauntlets, hats, etc. She will accept custom orders and has a Facebook page. Phone her at 306-401-7203. Marcy will work with garment tanned furs you supply or has Saskatchewan fur she's sourced.

Wild Prairie Design Saskatchewan. Kim Ducherer makes leather mitts with fur cuffs and pom-poms for knit toques. She sells online.
FurWest Saskatchewan. Susan Schilgol of Meath Park, Saskatchewan helps customers design fur vests, jackets, etc. to their specification. These are then made by artisans in the region. They also sell tanned wild fur pelts.
Shekman Furs Handmade Furs Hats, Mittens, Mukluks, Slippers. Forks Market, Winnipeg, Manitoba. The store is in the lovely location of the Forks Market and is open until 6:30 PM. Online ordering also available, products shipped.
Victoria's Arctic Fashion Nunavut. "Every V.A.F product is made in Nunavut, by Inuit and made with love using Canadian furs and skins." Boutique in Iqaluit. Parkas for women and mena, sealskin headbands. Online Ordering available.

Furriers and Stores with Canadian Fur Products in Western Canada

Wanuskewin Gift Shop Handmade items such as mitts and moccasins with fur trim. Online ordering available, products shipped. Onsite shop at Wanuskewin Heritage Park, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
Robertson Trading Ltd. La Ronge, SK. Saskatchewan made products sold on site. Museum quality pieces on display.
The North West Company, 45 River St. West, Prince Albert, Saskatchewan across from the Museum. This "trading post" offers tanned fur pelts as well as handmade mits, gloves, gauntlets, trimmed with wild fur and beading. RCMP type fur hats are also available. In store shopping.
Sydney Gitterman Furs Ltd. is located at 46 Princess St. in Winnipeg, Manitoba, north of the police station. The current proprietor, Ron Loustel, offers a full line of service including restoration, repair, restyling and storage as well as design of new fur coats, jackets, etc. The store carries a wide range of fur garments and accessories.
Chut Furs is located at 1155 Henderson Highway in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Chut Nguyen is the master furrier there. He makes beautiful large fur collars, trapper hats and ladies' hats which are for sale in his store, in a variety of Canadian furs. He makes leather mittens lined with muskrat that are very light and warm too. He also will make or restyle fur coats. He also carries some fur pelts. (chutfurs@shaw.ca)

Canada Goose Noted for parkas with natural fur trimmed hoods and goose down filling. Made in Canada. Sold at several stores and outlets across Canada.
Hudson's Bay Fur Salons. Hudson's Bay began as a fur trading company. Some stores still have fur salons, such as Edmonton and Winnipeg. These salons offer fur coats, wraps, jackets, hats, etc. Some of these are still made in Canada, with Canadian fur. Some salons are "seasonal", so phone ahead before travelling there.
Morris Furs Edmonton, Alberta. Fur coats, stoles, etc. New and Used. Restyling and fur storage also available. Many of the furs are Canadian and the furriers will explain which in detail.
Sisson Furs Red Deer, Alberta. Fur coats, stoles, etc. Fur storage also available. Many of the furs are Canadian.
Bregg Cleaners, Tailors and Furriers on Albert St. in Regina, SK no longer sells furs but will store furs and will have fur garments repaired.
